COMMUNITY LINKS

We are an outward looking school and we like to work closely with our local community.

Cake Sale for Flood Relief

In March 2022, some of our secondary boarders sold cakes to raise money for Flood Relief. They made over K40,000 from the sale.

Further Support for Zomba Central Hospital

Our Sponsored Swim in March 2021, raised an amazing K630,440.00. We used this money to buy equipment for Zomba Central Hospital's Paediatric Ward. We purchased: a child's weighing scale, three nebulisers. a blood pressure machine, two pulse oximeters, two thermometres, 50 bottles of metronidazole syrup, 50 bottles of paracetamol syrup, 50 bottles of amoxyl syrup, 30 bottles of ibulplus syrup, 20 bottles of sinurrhoin syrup, 20 blankets, a carton of washing soap, a pack of washing powder, 5 bottles of hand sanitiser, a bottle of squash and lots of second hand clothing. This morning our Secondary School Council presented these donations to staff from the hospital. We are proud that our students are keen to support our local community.

Supporting Zomba Central Hospital

At Sir Harry's, we are always keen to support our local community. Our school council have donated toys, books, colouring pens and blankets to Zomba Central Hospital Children's Ward, using some of the money raised from our Sponsored Swim.

Supporting Matawale Clinic

Our Secondary students have organised a Film Night.  They raised K70,000 for medication for the patients of Matawale Clinic.

Visit from Mission Rabies

We have had a visit from Mission Rabies.  They talked to our children about how to stay safe around animals.

Business and Enterprise

At Sir Harry's we offer a Business and Enterprise Club for our Secondary Students (run by one of our Alumni). The club members work in groups developing a business plan to raise money for a charity of their choice. They have to present their bids to local business leaders, with the aim of receiving funding for their proposals.
