Class Teacher - Miss Knott
This term we will be using three key texts for inspiration. Firstly we will read Judith Kerr's Book 'When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit' about a Jewish family and their time as refugees. We will write diary entries, newspaper reports and non fiction texts based on this. Then we will read 'The Dark' by Lemony Snicket and consider the use of figurative language and personification. Finally we will study Alfred Noyes narrative poem 'The Highwayman'. We will perform drama and write our own narrative poems.
In maths we will continue to work on our number skills with all four number operations including decimals. We will also look at data handling, making and interpreting different types of graphs and will have a few weeks focusing on geometry.
This term we will study light including how light travels and how we see. We will continue to work on our scientific investigation skills and will plan, conduct and evaluate different experiments.
Our topic this term will answer the question 'Is it Ever Right To Fight?' We will study the two world wars including Malawi's involvement.
